This paper describes the behavior of the Han River Sand by drained test with the conventional triaxial apparatus.
The objective of this study is to investigate some kinds of errors through the test and the mechanical characteristics of the Han River Sand and to find the critical state parameters of the sand.
The samples were made by the water pluviation method because poorly graded sand like the Han River Sand has a good sample through the method. The samples had the dimension with 10cm height and 5cm diameter.
In general, it was known that to find the critical state parameter by the convention triaxial compression test is very difficult because of the irregular deformation mechanism in the sample. Therefore, this study used the theory of the critical state to overcome that problem.
