Atomic broadcast is a powerful primitive for distributed processing systems. Simple Atomic Broadcasting Protocol (SABP) is an atomic broadcasting protocol which uses the reliable features provided by Ethernet. Reliable features of Ethernet such as low transmission error rate an message synchronization are enhanced more and more. By adopting these features in designing SABP, protocol is simplified and achieve better performance.
SABP provides the following features:
* All-or-nothing property: if a message is received by an application program at one site, it is guaranteed to be received by application program at all receiver sites.
* Message synchronization: if message M is received at one site before message N, M is received at all sites before N.
This paper shows the design of SABP, and the performance evaluation with other similar protocols.
