In the distributed processing systems, it is difficult to manage and to use the systems because of the size and the heterogeneity of the systems. Moreover, the access control is an issue in this distributed environment. To solve the problem, we propose a name management system which is based on the "view" concept.
We have proposed the view-based name management system applicable to the capability based distributed system. using views in the name management system, we can create flexible domains for each user's needs. From the viewpoint of the system administrators, the view based name management supports a simple mechanism for controlling the accesses over the object naming space. The users can share the object naming space with views for the users' own purposes easily. Our view-based name management system supports the trading concept. In this thesis, we model and design the view-based name management system, especially, the views. In addition, we analyze the view-based name management system on a transaction- and capability-based system.
분산환경하에서 사용자가 보는 전체 시스템은 그 크기와 각 시스템 구성요소들의 상이성으로 인하여 관리적인 측면 뿐 아니라 사용하는 면에서도 힘들어 진다. 또한 이와 같은 환경하에서 각 구성요소들 간의 액세스의 관리는 또한 큰 문제이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여, 한 사용자가 보는 시스템을 view라는 개념으로 제한시키면, 사용자가 시스템을 보는 관점을 줄일 뿐 아니라, 각 사용자의 영역 사이의 액세스 관리를 원활하게 해 줄 수 가 있다.
본 논문에서는 이와 같이 각 사용자의 목적에 따른 view를 구성하는데 view filter라는 object를 사용하여 전체 명명 관리 시스템을 체계적으로 정리하고, 특히 transaction과 capability를 기반으로 하는 시스템 위에서 제안한 view를 기반으로 하는 명명관리 시스템이 잘 동작하는 지를 보였다. 또한, transaction 시스템의 제한으로 발생한 문제를 해결하는 알고리즘을 첨가하고 그 정량적인 분석을 통해 그 타당성을 보인다.
