The purpose of this thesis is to develop a model which concerns with selecting R ＆ D projects. This model provides for four types of project interrelationship : contingency, overlap in project resource utilization, technical project interdependence, and the project interaction with respect to value contribution.
At first, the methods of R ＆ D project selection are reviewed. Next the characteristics of R ＆ D projects ; uncertainty, multi-stage aspect and interdependence are explained and the "Interdependent R ＆ D Project Selection Model" is suggested as a method of treating these characteristics. By project tree, the aspect of multi-stage and uncertainty are considered, and the interdependence are included by the interdependent model.
To represent the effect of interdependence, we compared the R&D project portfolio of basic model with those of interdependent model.
