In recent years there has been an increasing understanding of the importance of chair. Research workers are investigating those feelings of comfort and discomfort of which the sitter may be normally unaware, in order to discover the design requirements for comfortable seats.
This study proposes a new measure of chair evaluation and compares it with the user comfort evaluation. The movement of center of body pressure is used the new measure of chair evaluation. This is done by means of Wriggle Meter, a device observed movement of center of body pressure.
The eleven point scale used by Shackel et al. is chosen for the current study as it is fine enough to evaluate even very comfortable seating.
It is concluded that the number of body movement has been to do with the chair comfort.
