One of the advantages of using smart phones is that it is accessible to the internet wherever the users are and that users carry them most of the time in their daily activities. From a commercial perspective, sellers are able to keep track of users through smartphones. However, it is not easy to recognize the time when computers ask users to stop what they currently do for a moment, and then ask them to do what they are requested to carry out. In particular, it is challenging to predict interruptibility of users in a circumstance where the amount of dataset is sparse resulting from new users. This research conducted an experiment about a method to predict interruptibility of new smartphone users especially when it is difficult to acquire the sufficient amount of dataset. It was attempted to analyze various types of sensors and user behaviors extracted from smartphones to look for the existing users who have a similar activity pattern to the new users. The paper proposes an approach to improve a prediction accuracy of interruptibility of new users whose initial dataset are difficult to obtain by utilizing dataset of the existing users.
스마트폰의 장점은 언제 어디서나 인터넷에 접속 가능하다는 것과 늘 사용자와 함께 있다는 것이다. 비즈니스적 관점에서 보면 언제든 소비자에게 접근할 수 있는 통로가 생긴 것이다. 하지만 사용자에게 현재 하고 있는 일을 잠시 중단하고 요청받은 일을 해달라고 방해할 수 있는 시점을 컴퓨터가 정확히 인지하는 것은 어렵다. 특히 신규 사용자와 같이 초기 데이터가 부족한 상황에서 사용자의 중단가능성(Interruptibility)을 예측하는 것은 더욱 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 초기 데이터 확보가 어려운 상황에서 기존 사용자들의 데이터를 활용하여 신규 스마트폰 사용자의 중단가능성(Interruptibiltiy)을 예측하는 방법을 실험하였다. 신규 사용자와 유사한 생활패턴을 갖는 기존 사용자들을 찾기 위하여 스마트폰에서 추출 가능한 각종 센서와 사용자의 행동 데이터를 분석하고 비교하여 유사 사용자를 찾는 방법을 적용하였다. 이 연구를 통해 기존 사용자들의 데이터를 활용하여 초기 데이터 확보가 어려운 스마트폰 신규 사용자들의 중단가능성 예측 정확도를 향상시키는 방법을 제시한다.
