This study tests a hypothesis that the performance of gamers is influenced by the structural position within their collaboration networks. From 'OP.GG', we constructed ego-centric networks of 130 gamers for 50 days. We divided the networks into seven-day moving windows for time-series analysis. We computed clustering coefficient to measure the degree of how closely gamers are connected, 'embeddedness', and established a panel regression model. Results demonstrated that the gamers embedded in closed networks were more likely to improve their tier.
