A PC-based interactive program is developed for representation of a layout and kinematic analysis of spatial mechanisms. A set of basic elements is defined in a database from which a concrete mechanism can be planned or laid down interactively. A stepwise kinematic analysis is possible and the results can be displayed.
The present program is shown to be a convenient tool for a preliminary design. Further expansion toward dynamic analysis and synthesis is open, but considered in the development of program structure.
