In this study, vehicle suspension system is analytically studied.
Nonlinear damping values are considered to improve the suspension quality.
Statistical linearization technique(SLT) as well as the so called time domain approach method(TDAM) suggested is adopted to obtain the optimal responses of the system and found that the results of SLT and TDAM are in good agreement with the output from direct numerical integration when the input is in normal distribution.
New criteria to control damping parameter are suggested to give improved suspension system.
The response of the suspended mass is greatly reduced(up to 50%) by adopting the suggested criteria of controlling the passive damping parameter.
