Experimental study on the particle deposition from two dimensional laminar flow of a hot gas suspension of small(micron and submicron) particles around a cylindrical cold wall surface was carried-out by the real time laser light reflectivity method.
In this experiments, particles deposit thermophoretically on the wall surface as a result of the large temperature difference between the gas stream and the body surface, then the experiment data can be comparable with the small temperature difference between the gas stream and body by the others previously work.
Also considered flow fild effect around cylindrical wall by measured local deposition rate as a function of angle from stagnation point.
Result of this study indicate that the thermpphoresis can be dominant mechanism for the particle deposition from hot particle-laden gas flow and deposition rate decrease due to the curvature of streamline.
