Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) have recently attracted some attention as solid-state light sources for displays and lighting due to their advantages such as compatibility with versatile designs, low temperature process, flexibility, and low-cost process. However, conventional transparent electrodes (TEs) have been a limiting factor in realizing future flexible light sources due to their mechanical brittleness. In addi-tion, they have cost issue due to their limited quantity. For these reasons, there have been many demands to find alternative TEs. Graphene electrodes, which have superb characteristics for optoelectronic devices, can be a good candidate for alternative TEs that have both flexibility and low-cost potential. When it comes to OLEDs, however, graphene-based OLEDs have exhibited a relatively low efficiency. This thesis therefore focuses on enhancing the efficiency of OLEDs based on graphene TEs. In particular, a high refractive index layer of $TiO_2$ is employed together with graphene to utilize micro-cavity effects that can lead to enhanced efficiency upon optimization. Optical analysis based on advanced power dissipation model indicates that the thinness of graphene TEs is in fact advantageous in taking a full advantage of the cavity effect. High current efficiency (132 cd $A^{-1}$), and external quantum efficiency (24.8 %) are achieved with the proposed electrode structure, outperforming those of state-of-the-are conventional graphene based OLEDs.
