In this paper, the relationship between industry concentration and stock returns on the Korean Stock Market is examined by separating the manufacturing and non-manufacturing during 2000 and 2014. So, innovation and entry barriers hypothesis would be tested on the Korea Stock Market. The result empirically shows that industry concentration premium does not strongly appear on the entire Korea Stock Market. However, when separated by a manufacturing and non-manufacturing industry, industry concentration has significant negative relation on the stock return from 2000 to 2014, even after controlling for size, book-to-market ratio, beta, and leverage. Also, after the financial crisis, It appears that industry concentration premium has began to be observed little by little on the Korea Stock Market. It is caused by changes of nonmanufacturing industry structure. As a result, Korea Stock Market after financial crisis is considered with similar to that found by Hou and Robinson(2006) for United States market data.
