This thesis examines the relationship between CEO turn over event and CEO tenure with stock returns volatility in the Kospi market. To test this relationship, we assume that stock return volatility is able to be decomposed to part of firm fundamental uncertainty and CEO related uncertainty. Also, we use Stylized Bayesian Learning Model of pan et al,(2015) In this thesis, two volatility measure, idiosyncratic return volatility and realized return volatility, are used to test polynomial specification. In this way, we can calculate learning speed of investors about new CEO. Consequently, we observed Korean market stocks’ return volatility which have CEO turnover history are convexly decreases during new CEO’s tenure. This is due to the fact that investors consistently update their assessment about CEO according to news about firm.
