To investigate the effects of chloro-and phenyl substituents and isophthalate on the properties of copolyesters, thermotropic liquid crystalline copolyesters were prepared by reacting chlorohydroquinone diacetate, phenylhydroquinone diacetate, terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid.
Dynamic viscoelastic properties were analyzed by dynamic spectrometer using the parallel plate mode.
Filaments of copolyesters were obtained by melt spinning at temperatures between 275 and 345℃.
As-spun filaments were further subjected to heattreatment.
The mechanical properties, thermal properties, and morphology of the fiber were evaluated.
