Sales Mix Problem (SMP) is concerned with the maximization of profit for the current period. In this study, we consider the impact of the sales mix on the long-term profit. To formulate this problem, we adopt the framework of Post Model Analysis (PMA). The problem is named as Extended SMP (ESMP). PMA approach supports the trade-offs between the quantified profit of current period and non-quantified long-term profit. To do this, the opportunity cost of considering qualitative long-term profit is computed. The evaluation of alternative solutions from the long-term profit's point of view is supported by graphical display schemes developed in the strategic planning arena. Expert system is also used to help the integrated usage of qualitative information. A decision support system (DSS) which helps the solution process of ESMP by PMA approach is designed, and a prototype DSS, named SAM ($\underline{Sa}$les $\underline{M}$ix DSS) is developed in the microcomputer. SAM has the components of optimization models, data base, graphs and knowledge base.
企業의 計劃은 그 計劃期間의 길이에 따라 短期計劃과 長期計劃으로 나누어진다. 組織의 意思決定者는 短期利益을 위해 經營科學이나 運營科學에서 개발된 計量的 模型을 사용하여 短期利益을 極大化하는 반면 戰略分野에서 개발된 模型에 근거하여 長期計劃을 수립하게 된다. 즉 長期利益을 위한 目標에 의해 파생되는 제약조건 하에서 短期利益의 極大化를 위한 計量的 模型을 사용하는 것이 일반적이다.
그러나 이러한 接近方法은 企業의 長期利益과 短期利益이 相反關係에 놓여 있을 경우 그 상황을 충분히 해결해 주지 못한다는 短點을 지니고 있다. 最高經營者의 입장에서는 長期利益 못지 않게 短期利益도 중요하므로, 이 둘 사이에 相反關係가 존재할 경우 長期利益과 短期利益 사이의 相互作用을 고려하여 計劃을 수립할 수 있는 새로운 接近方法이 필요하다고 하겠다.
본 論文은 事後模型分析(Post Model Analysis) 接近方法을 사용하여 企業의 最高經營者가 長期利益과 短期利益 사이의 相反關係에 관한 意思決定을 내릴때 그 過程을 지원할 수 있는 意思決定支援體系(Decision Support System)을 개발하고자 하는 것을 그 硏究目的으로 하고 있다.
