This thesis suggests a practical way of decision making in real-world problems concerning hiring agents.
In this thesis a decision maker's optimal decision process is derived when he is confronted with biased information of an agent under the situation that the bias is caused mainly by the difference of the decision maker's and agent's utilities.
In developing this model, we use the concept of the expert use and scoring rule to provide the agent with an incentive to make honest transmission of information. And the concept of expected regret is introduced to evaluate the value of getting information from the agent.
Comparing with Green's model, the advantages of this model are also shown.
의사결정 문제에 있어서 의사 결정자는 자신의 정보를 이용하여 의사결정을 내리게 된다. 만약 자신의 정보가 불충분한 경우 agent 를 고용하여 추가로 정보를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 agent 의 이해관계가 의사 결정자의 그것과 상충될 경우, agent 는 고의적으로 왜곡된 정보를 제공할 가능성이 있다.
이러한 상황의 문제점을 해결하려는 시도로 Green 의 model 이 있으나 이는 극히 제한된 경우에만 적용될수 있다.
본 논문에서는 Expert use 와 Scoring rule 의 개념을 도입하여 agent 의 정보왜곡이 개입되는 일반적인 상황에서 의사 결정자의 최적 의사 결정과정을 유도해 보았다.
