An industrial vision system for a die bonding machine is developed. Considering processing time and the reliability of the die bonder, we use hardware window counters and adapt algorithms which are insensitive to noise, such as Hough transform and projection.
256 gray level digitizer and 256 × 256 video memory are newly designed by using TMS 4161.
Because of a subsystem of the die bonding machine controller, the vision system is integrated to the controller, but the system can be extended to a general vision system by itself.
