The Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) basic access arrangement recommended CCITT consists of two 64Kb s channels (B-channels) and one 16Kb/s channel (D-channel). The D-channel provides a message switched channel with a Link Access Procedure on D-channel(LAPD) protocol allowing for the transport for s-type (signalling), t-type(telemetry), and p-type(packet data) information.
This paper presents multiplexing methods for multiple multiplex logical links in data link layer, and makes out a scenario for estimation of input arrival rate. Assuming that such a scenario covers various traffic conditions, delay and throughput of LAPD protocol considered retransmission is analyzed by analytic method under M G I queueing system, and verified by simulation using Simulation Language for Alternative Modeling(SLAM).
