Pressuremeter test, as a new field in situ test, is receiving increased attention in the site investigation. Unlike the conventional field in situ test, this test has a merit that the ground characteristics can be economically investigated based on the theoretical background.
The results obtained through field insitu test and laboratory model test for this thesis are adapted for studying the general ground characteristics and are used to discuss the adaptibility by comparing with the conventional test results.
Finally, it is shown that various design parameters can be obtained by the pressuremeter test if the loading mechanism of the pressuremeter test is accounted for.
