In this thesis, a seismic analysis of multi-supported structures subjected to nonuniform excitation at each support is presented. Two methods are employed in this study. They are the single response spectrum and the multiple response spectrum method. This study focuses on the multiple response spectrum method, which can analyze the effect of nonuniform support excitations more adequately.
Numerical analysis has been carried out using a frame structure and a piping system. The results from two different methods are compared. Parametric study has been also performed to investigate the effect of structural properties, such as fixity conditions at supports and the water inside of the pipes.
