The Study is concerned with the analysis of the required loads and torque in the Three-Roll Power Spinning Process by using the Method of Force Polygon Diagram.
The experimental set-up is designed and manufactured for the experiment of the Three-Roll Power Spinning Process. Experiments are carried out using pure lead billets at room temperature. The radial force, the axial force and the torque occurring during the process are calculated theoretically and are compared with the experimental data. The radial force and the torque increase with increasing billet size and reduction of area, but decrease with increasing roll angle. The axial force is rather small as compared with the radial force and increases according as billet size, reduction of area and roll angle increase. An approximate load distribution is known by the Force Polygon Diagram. It is shown that the Method of Force Polygon Diagram combined with t.v.d. pattern is an effective method to determine loads, torque and an approximate distribution of loads.
