Computer capacity planning is a fresh application of proven technique, and addresses the problems in managing computer resources.
The purpose of this study is to build a regression model between resource utilizations and response time for computer capacity planning, and to apply empirically to the computer system of K-bank.
As the result of this, the three linear regression models are suggested. But these are not the optimal models which are applied in all computer systems.
This study has two major contributions :
One is a development of the basic methodology for a computer capacity planning : the other is application of methodology for a real capacity planning problem.
Finally, the limitation and weakness of this approach is discussed.
