Steady state crack growth in polyethylene is investigated using three point bend specimen Subjected to a constant load. Attempts to correlate the crack growth rate $\dot{a}$ with several macroscopic parameter such as stress intensity factor K, J-integral, $C^{*}$-integral and effective stress (σeff) have been made under various constant loads.
The $C^{*}$-integral has been found to be the most correlating load parameter, that is, $\dot{a}$ versus $C^{*}$ curve is not significantly influenced by different load level.
