This thesis deals with design and simulation of a real time flight guidance system using passive dynamic imagery.
The system consists of four parts;
1) Visual input device
2) Real time edge extractor
3) Real time control processor
4) Image synthesis and display processor
An image processing system consisting of real time digitizer, real time edge extractor, and real time control processor is studied and its design and implementation are analyzed.
A method for image synthesis from three-dimensional contour map is developed for system simulation
In this thesis it is shown that the passive sensor can be used as an input device instead of active sensor, such as radar, and its feasibility is proved through simulaton study.
