In this thesis, an experimental system for English to Korean machine translation is designed and implemented with prolog.
This system uses Definite Clause Grammar to parse an English sentence and produce one or more parse trees. The parse trees are used to generate Korean sentences.
In order to cope with linguistic differences between Korean and English, the parse trees are transformed during parsing and the Korean sentences for them are generated in the predetermined order. And a Korean word, which corresponds to an English word, is selected by means of the real world information represented in the semantic network.
