Polyamides and polyesters containing 2,5-thienylene linkage were synthesized by the interfacial polycondensation of 2,2-bis-(5-chlorocarbonyl-2-thienyl) butane and 2,2-carbonyl-bis-(5-thiophene carboxylic acid chloride) with various diamines and diols in water-dichloromethane solvent at room temprature in the presence of sodium hydroxide as an acid acceptor.
The structures of these polymers were identified by IR and $H^1$-NMR Spectroscopy. Characteristic absortion bands of polyamides appeared at $3650-3150 cm^{-1}$ (N-H stretching), $1660-1615 cm^{-1}$ (amide I band), and $1560-1520 cm^{-1}$ (amide II Band) and those of polyesters were observed at $1745-1725 cm^{-1}$ (carbonyl stretching of ester group).
The physical properties of these polyamides and polyesters were also investigated. The resulting polyamides had inherent viscosities in the range of 0.3-0.62 dl/g and those of polyesters were 0.08-0.24 dl/g.
These polymers revealed relatively good thermal stability. The TGA data showed 10% weight losses of polyamides at 330-492℃ and those of polyesters at 342-507℃.
2,5-리오 페닐렌 결합을 포함하고 있는 폴리아미드 및 폴리에스테르가 2,2-비스-(5-클로로 카르보닐-2-리에닐) 부탄 혹은 2,2-카르보닐-비스-(5-리오펜 카르복시릭 산 클로라이드)와 여러가지 디아민, 디올화합물과의 계면축중합 반응에 의하여 생성되었다.
생성된 고분자의 구조는 IR과 H'-NMR 분광학에 의하여 확인되었으며 물리적인 성질도 조사되었다.
얻어진 고분자의 고유정도는 폴리아미드가 0.3-0.62g/dl이었고 폴리에스테르가 0.08-0.24 g/dl 이었다.
이들 중합체는 대체로 유기용매에 잘 녹지 않았으며 열중량분석에 의하면 매우 좋은 열안정성을 나타내었다.
