Some basic problems of molecular dynamics simulations, such as size effect, statistical error due to finite time averaging and the relaxation of thermodynamic variables to the equilibrium, are investigated for one and two dimensional Lennard-Jones systems.
We also studied on the melting of two dimensional system consisted of 100 Lennard-Jones particles and the results are compared quantitatively with the Halperin-Nelson theory.
