The purpose of this work is to have a better understanding on the thermal performance of flat-plate liquid type solar collectors. For this purpose, the effects of various collector parameters on the thermal efficiency of solar collectors are studied.
Computer simulations of collector have been carried out with Hottel-Whillier-Bliss model and experimental tests have been performed using a solar collector thermal performance test loop. In addition, time constant which represents the dynamic characteristics of collector is determined by experiments changing flow rate, insolation and collector inlet temperature.
