An ultrasonic B-scanner is designed and implemented, where the dynamic focusing technique is used to improve the B-scanner image quality.
In this paper.
some basic principles of ultrasonic B-scanner are briefly reviewed and those techniques that are used to implement the dynamic focusing system is described.
The linear array transducer is used for focusing and scanning the object in this system.
For the dynamic focusing of the each signal multiplexing circuits which control the signal path of the array transducer and adder circuits which add the delayed signals were designed.
Focusing of the received signal is performed at 8 points, and the same number of adders were used in parallel.
To reduce the noise generated at the time of focal point switching, a special technique is employed. And the T&R control circuits which control the overall transmission and receiving parts are designed.
