The purpose of this thesis is to perform a systematic analysis of aircraft accidents using Fault Tree Technique. The theoretical procedure of the fault tree, i.e., system definition, preliminary analysis, fault tree construction, simplification of the fault tree, and analysis, is explained in detail. A computer program which can be used for the qualitative/quantitative analysis of the fault tree is developed.
The computer consists of two parts. In the first part, the minimal cut sets or minimal path sets of the system can be obtained from the system's fault tree. This part is based on "FATRAM- A Fault Tree Reduction Algorithm" by Rasmuson et al.. In the second part, the quantitative analysis using the minimal cut sets(or minimal path sets) can be performed. That is, system reliability, structural importance and probability importance of components can be calculated.
The fault tree analysis is applied to the evaluation of an aircraft. The critical basic events of the aircraft are identified by the structural importance and the probability importance.
현대의 항공기는 체계가 복잡해지고 있으며, 고가화하는 추세에 있다. 한번 사고가 발생하면 항공기의 손실뿐만 아니고 조종사의 사상, 추락한 항공기에 의한 기물들의 파손, 기타의 연관된 비용들이 발생하게 된다. 그러므로 항공기의 철저한 관리와 안전 분석이 필요하다.
이 논문에서는 Fault Tree 분석 기법을 이용하여 항공기의 안전사고를 체계적으로 분석하여 주요원인을 색출하려는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 Fault Tree Algorithm 을 전산화 하였다. 전반부에서는 Minimal Cut Set 을 구하여 정량적인 분석이 가능하게 하였고, 후반부에서는 Minimal Cut Set을 이용하여 각 부품의 구조적 중요도와 확률적 중요도를 구하여 정량적인 분석이 가능하게 하였다.
마지막으로 이 기법을 항공기에 실제로 적용하여 각 부품에 대하여 정량적인 분석을 하며, 항공기 사고의 주요 원인을 색출하여 그 개선 방안을 제시하였다.
