The conversion in coal gasification reactions were studied in a 3-inch diameter fluidized bed at atmospheric pressure.
In this study, experimental variables were air flow rate, steam flow rate and temperature with coal feed rate was fixed.
After gasification reaction occured, residual coal was analyzed in order to find coal conversion fraction.
The correlation with experimental variables was as follows;
$X = 0.2817 (F_{stm}/F_c)^{0.75\times10^{-2}} (F_{air}/F_c)^{0.185}(T')^{0.518}$
Coal conversion increased with air flow rate and temperature but nearly independent on steam flow rate.
