Specific conductances and densities were measured for various compositions at different temperatures of $LiAsF_6-CH_3CN-SO_2$ solution which was lately employed as anew $Li/SO_2$ cell electrolyte. Special conductance cell and picnometer, and other experimental accessories were designed to meet the problems associated with the high vapour pressure of the sample electrolyte solutions at room-temperatures.
The data obtained were analyzed from the application point of view to the practical cell design, and a conceptual design of "D" size $Li/SO_2$ cell using the new electrolyte has been tried. Also attempted was qualitative interpretations of the physicochemical properties of the solutions based on the limited data available through this work.
