A finite element computer program for the stress analysis of honeycomb sandwich structure is developed. This program can treat sandwich plate and shell with anisotropic faces and core of nonconstant thickness. Computational results are presented for stress distributions of a clamped honeycomb sandwich plate subjected to uniformly distributed load. Attention was given to the effect of the change of core property on face stresses.
It is found that face stresses are affected by the change of shear modulus and the orientation of principal material axes of core. In orthotropic face sandwich, structurally desirable orientation of core principal material axes is one at which the strong axis of face is aligned with the strong axis of core.
Honeycomb Sandwich 구조물의 응력해석을 위한 유한요소 구조해석 Program 을 개발하였다. 이 Program 은 이방성인 Face 와 두께가 일정하지 않은 Core 를 가진 Sandwich 평판 및 Shell 형태의 구조물에 대한 응력해석을 할 수 있다.
이 Program 을 사용하여 분포 하중을 받는 고정지지된 Honeycomb Sandwich 평판의 응력해석을 하였다. Core 의 성질의 변화가 Face 의 응력에 끼치는 영향에 주목하였는데, Core 의 전단계수, 주축의 방향의 변화가 Face 의 응력 분포에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다. 이방성인 Face를 사용하였을 때 구조적으로 바람직한 Core주축의 방향은 Face의 강한 축과 Core 의 강한축이 같은 방향을 가질 때임을 알 수 있었다.
