Film cooling phenomena are very important for reducing the weight of jet engine.
In this thesis, film cooling effect has been investigated over flat plate with two turbulence levels of main stream and slot stream.
The local film cooling effectiveness values were obtained at a number of positions downstream from slot injection by measuring the surface temperature of the test plate for each case.
From those, it was shown that film cooling effect decreases with increase of turbulence intensity and more influenced by main stream turbulence.
