This paper is written about manual data input (MDI) and universal display system for the numeric controller of 2 axis lathe. This system is a part of NC Project, which is made up of main routine, MDI & Universal display, interpolator and servo motor control.
The function of this system is largely divided into two functions. One is MDI, which can operate NC by keying numeric data & commands and the other is Universal display, which tells us the state of NC by numeric data through display panel. In addition, tool offset function and axis conversion function are included in this system.
This system uses Motorola 68,000 micro computer, which is 16 bit processor. The result of this study is demonstrated through operation.
