IT Investment is one of the essential management activities for a company’s growth in the future and its competitive advantages. In particular, as Korean insurance companies increase their investment costs for IT, they have tried to establish effective strategies for assessing the IT investment performance accurately. There also have been many studies on management system for IT investment in academic perspective while studies on it in practical perspective have been insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to derive the critical factors of successful management system for IT Investment from the case study of insurance companies and theoretical study of management system for IT Investment. For this purpose, first, this study looks at the important theoretical framework in methodology of it. And then, it analyzes the best practice of management system for IT investment through the case study on a leading insurance company. Finally, this study derives the critical considerations in terms of process, model, and indicator which are necessary for establishing successful management system for IT investment from the case study on improvement plan.
IT 투자는 회사의 경쟁력과 미래성장에 필수적인 경영활동이다. 특히, 국내 보험사의 경우 IT 투자비용의 지속적 증가에 따라 IT 투자성과의 정확한 평가를 위한 효과적인 전략 수립을 위해 노력해 왔다. 학계에서도 IT투자관리체계에 대한 연구는 계속 되어 왔지만 실무자적 관점에서의 성공적인 IT투자관리체계 구축에 필요한 연구들은 충분하지 않았다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 IT투자관리체계의 이론적 프레임워크를 포함하여 보험회사의 사례를 바탕으로 성공적인 IT투자관리체계 구축에 있어 필요한 핵심 성공 요소를 도출해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 먼저 IT 투자관리체계 방법론에서 중요한 이론적 프레임워크를 살펴본다. 그런 다음 선진 보험회사의 사례연구를 통해 IT 투자관리체계의 모범사례(Best Practice)를 분석한다. 마지막으로 IT 투자관리체계 개선에 대한 사례연구를 통해 성공적인 IT 투자관리체계 구축을 위해 필요한 프로세스, 모델, 지표에 관한 핵심 고려사항을 도출한다.
