Last several year more and more people have felt that noise assults our life. There are many works about noise in foreign countries but a few in our country, Korea. The main purpose of this research is to know the domestic noise condition through the field survey. The selected areas of our noise research are the urban residential area adjacent to the heavy industrial factory and the occupational area of that factory. The various method - A-Weighted Sound Pressure Level, Loudness Level, Perceived Noiseness Level, Preferred Speech Interference Level - were used to evaluate the residential noise and to find some relationship in that area at the daytime. The residential area noise was over the suggested noise criteria and the domestic regulation. The operators in that factory are respected the hearing loss due to high noise level. The sound pressure level of the main noise source and in the shop are listed. This research also deals with the traffic noise of high-rise building adjacent to the Kyung Bu freeway. The measured data-$L_{10}, L_{50},L_{90}$-agrees with the Delany's formulas which predict the sound level near the road at 10 m distance. And the sound level Leq of the 12th floor was 7.6 dBA higher than the ground floor.
