Paper manufacturing industry in Korea still remains in the underdeveloped stage with respect to such factors as material, technology and capital. So it is highly desirable to reduce the cost and accordingly improve the productivity of the industry. It is believed that these goals could be achieved by the proper use of the MIS.
Therefore, this paper studies the nature of the MIS, the general precedures for the establishment of the MIS in the organization and finally introduction of the MIS in the peper manufacturing company.
Although there are many management fields in which the MIS can be applied, this study focuses on the spare part management and the production/inventory management, because these are basic and critical to the improvement of the productivity and the immediate results from the implementation of the MIS can be recognized.
This study provides specific procedures in these fields and designs related forms of input and output reports.
The systems developed here can be easily adjusted to other paper manufacturing companies with minor modification.
