The effect of high temperature thermomechanical treatment on mechanical properties and crystallographic texture of 0.3% C-Ni-Cr-Mn steel was investigated.
The steel was rolled 50%-90% reduction at 800℃, 900℃, 1000℃ respectively and quenched to form martensite before concurrent recrystallization of deformed austenite occurs, then tempered at 200℃.
Mechanical properties of thermomechanically treated steel were improved significantly.
Rolling texture analysis by means of pole figure revealed that high temperature thermomechanical treatment resulted in a finer martensite with crystallographic texture. The orientation of these texture were (112) [1$\overline{1}$0] and (111) [$\overline{1}\overline{1}$2].
It is believed to be that (112) [1$\overline{1}$0] and (111) [$\overline{1}\overline{1}$2] crystallographic texture are attributed to enhance mechanical properties.
