A generalized TV image digitizer is designed to accept a standard TV camera video signal, to digitize an arbitrarily selected window of a stationary image, and to put the digitized data into computer memory.
The hardware is simple but powerful, and is controlled by the software. The hardware digitizes a line of video signal, stores the difitized data in the buffer memory, and gives the digitize-completed signal to the computer whenever digitizing of a line is completed.
The software determines the digitizing window, initializes the hardware, accepts the digitize-completed signal, and move the data stored in the buffer memory to the computer memory.
The digitizer can operate in either Single Mode or Double Mode. The Single Mode has a spatial resolution of 256 x 256, and the Double Mode has a spatial resolution of 512 x 512.
The results are displayed on the TTY terminal.
본 논문에서는 표준의 상용 TV 카메라 신호를 digitize 하며 컴퓨터의 memory 에 기억 시키는 Image Digitizer가 설계되었다. Hardware는 간단하면서 동작은 다양하고 Software에 의해서 control된다. 본 Digitizer 의 특색은 digitizing window 를 마음대로 선택할 수 있다는 점과 두 가지의 spatial resolution을 Software 로 간단하게 선택할 수 있다는 점이다. Spatial resolution 은 256x256 인것과 512x512인 것 두가지가 있다. Digitize 된 결과는 TTY 에 display함으로써 확인 할 수 있었다.
