The possibility for determination of the transfer function in the pulsed solvent extraction column was studied for better controlling the system in nuclear fuel reprocessing.
The transfer function could be determined by system identification method with the input/output data only, provided no information about the phenomena occurring in the pulse-column.
System identification can be achieved by moment analysis with finding the values of parameters in the simple models or determining the transfer function by partial minimum realizations.
The responses corresponding to given inputs were measured by the $\gamma$-absorptionmetry. In order to measure the concentration variations in the pulse-column, the samples had to be transported continuously to the $\gamma$-absorption cell without and decantation.
The air-lift made the emulsion transport successfully in the case of no pulsation, but as the air-lift leg was connected directly to the main column, the pulsation broke the stability of the air-lift.
For successful emulsion transport, the effect of the pulsation had to be repoved before the inlet of the air-lift.
