An interactive multiuser IS&R system is developed in this thesis. As a file structure, an inverted list file structure is used. Especially, to allow range search, the keys of the last level of directory are sorted and linked in an accending order. There is one directory for each key fields.
It is allowable for a record to use multikey and generic key. And as a record of file, fixed format and fixed field length record is allowed.
The retrieval query is an expression which is formed by relational operator in one field and boolean operator between fields.
A query processor is a reentrant program which is designed for serving many user's requests at one time.
A dedicated operating system is also developed that provides the cpu scheduling, disk I/O and buffer handlings, terminal I/O.
이 논문은 interactive multiuser IS&R 씨스템에 대하여 연구하였다. File 구조로는 inverted list file 구조가 연구되었고, 특히 range search가 가능하도록 directory의 마지막 level의 key들을 크기 순으로 연결하였다. Directory는 key인 field에 대하여 하나씩 있다.
레코드는 multi key와 generic key가 허용되도록 하였으나 fixed format, fixed field length 레코드만이 허용된다.
검색 query는 한 field에 대하여 relational operation이 작용하고 각 field들 간에는 boolean operation이 작용하도록 하나의 식을 이루고 있다.
Query processor는 여러 사용자의 요구문을 동시에 수행해줄 수 있도록 reentrant 프로그램이다.
위와 같은 것을 뒷받침해 주는 operating system으로는 CPU scheduling, disk 입출력과 buffer handling, terminal 입출력에 대한 것이 있다.
