The optical frequency filtering and subsequent pattern recognition are carried out for the Korean alphabets, namely the basic elementary patterns of the Korean characters. The Korean alphabets consist of 14 consonants and 10 vowels and their spatial spectra are obtained by recording on the photographic plate placed at the focal plane of the Fourier transform lens. With plus or minus filter, pattern recognitions are attempted and the results are found to agree with the theoretical predictions.
The overlap of the spatial frequency in the present holographic method is found to be fundamental problem, for example, the alphabets and always simultaneously disappear for the case of pattern elimination. This problem can be resolved only when holographic pattern recognition using laser beam are carried out. However the basis of the alphabetical filtering and pattern recognition of the Korean alphabets are established.
本 硏究에서는 光學的 空簡 周波數 濾過 方法으로 한글 基本子母에 대한 類型 認識을 試圖했다. 한글 子母는 子音 14개와 母音10개로 되어 있는데 그 各各에 대한 공간주파수 스펙트럼을 Fourier 變換렌즈의 焦平面에 사진 건판을 두어 기록하고 理論的 結果와 一致함을 확인했다. 또 이 스펙트럼을 필터를 써서 한 Page內에 있는 여러 pattern中에서 어느 특정 pattern만을 끄집어 내는 類型 認識을 試圖했다.
本 非홀로그라피 方法으로는 各 pattern을 이루고 있는 成分들의 相對的인 位置 關係를 알 수 없다. 例를 들어 ㄱ와ㄴ의 스펙트럼은 같으므로 ㄱ의 스펙트럼을 필터로 ㄱ을 지울때 ㄴ 도 같이 지워진다. 이러한 問題는 laser 를 쓴 홀로그라피 方法으로만 가능하다. 다만 本 實驗에서는 한글 子母의 공간 주파수 여과와 類型 認識의 基盤을 세웠다.
빛의 세기가 充分히 세지 못한 수은등을 쓸 경우 multiple pattern 을 써서 필터를 만드는 것이 좋으며, polar feature를 갖는 物體에 대해서는 polar distribution을 하면 정보손실이 적어짐을 알았다.
또 한글 子母中에서 유일하게 polar feature를 갖는 $\bigcirc$字를 $\triangle$로 바꾸어 주면, 全한글 子母는 Cartesian feature 를 가지므로 光學通信에 있어서 여러모로 이롭게 된다.
