With the emphasis in shipbuilding industry in Korea it has been the subject of many concerns to develop management information systems(MIS) which will help the logistics control of the shipyard operation for an efficient ship production. The shipyard MIS mainly consists of production planning and control, material control, labor control, economy and design subsystems. Among these the material control subsystem plays a very important role since actual building of a ship is directly connected to the availability of material necessary at the desired time. Understocking as well as overstocking of items would result in delay in the ship production and unnecessary large amount of carrying costs.
In this thesis a model of the shipyard MIS is presented. In particular the material control subsystems in implemented by designing a data bank and by developing computer programs necessary for purchasing, ordering, delivery and inventory stock controlling. The data bank contains several data files such as material specification, supplier, ordering, inventory file and corresponding directories. Both the single-and double-level hashing functions are utilized in the construction of the directories.
When inquires on purchasing and ordering, stock control, delivery control and so on are made by providing proper input data the material control system searches through the data bank, retrieves necessary data, process the data and prints out the output information.
Several sample runs are made to check the data bank and the material control program and the results are discussed.
조선소 경영정보시스템의 일부인 자재관리시스템 작성이 본 논문에서 연구되었다. 생산계획 및 관리시스템은 조선소 경영정보시스템의 핵심이 되는 것으로서 이 시스템과 자재관리시스템과의 관계에 대하여 개괄적으로 언급했다. 또한, 자재관리를 수행하는데 필요한 데이터 뱅크의 작성과 데이터 파일의 작성방법 및 해싱함수에 의한 1단계, 혹은, 2단계 디렉토리 작성에 대해서 연구하였으며, 정보의 저장 및 검색 프로그램을 작성하였다.
주문 및 구매관리, 창고관리 및 공급관리 프로그램도 개발되었다. 주문 및 구매관리는 과거의 자재 공급실적 데이터를 이용했으며, 창고관리와 공급관리는 재고파일, 주문파일에 의해서 이루어졌다. 그리고, 자재관리 프로그램과 데이터 뱅크의 기능을 검사하는 실험을 했으며, 여기에 쓰인 인력데이터와 그 결과를 고찰했다. 본 연구에서 개발된 자재관리시스템을 이용하여 정해진 시기와 장소에 필요한 수량의 자재를 적절히 공급함으로서 선박건조 활동은 더욱 원활해질 수 있는 것이다.
