Optimum quantizing and Logarithmic Quantizing are used as quantizing methods which minimize mean square error. However with ease of realization and the improvement of SNR, the Logarithmic Quantization is used more frequently.
In this study compression of Various quantization methods are made. With the measured distribution density function of Korean speech signal, we designed the Optimum quantizer, and determined the compression parameter of Logarithmic quantizer. We also calculated the SNR and mean square error theoretically. And the results are compared with the SNR and mean square error or Optimum quantizing.
In measurement, we obtained comparable result with Uniform quantizing and Logarithmic quantizing in SNR and mean square error for sinusoidal signal.
Mean Square Error 를 최소로하는 Quantizing 방법으로서 Optimum 과 Logarithmic Quantization 을 사용 하지만, 제작이 용이한 Logarithmic Quantization 이 흔히 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 Optimum Quantization Level 로 부터 직접 Equivalent Compression Parameter 를 선정하고, 설계된 Compandor 를 통해서 Logarithnic Quantization 을 하여 정현파에 대한 SNR 개선
