This thesis is started with necessary for in-campus research related Q&A activation and problematic insufficiency of existing system. Purpose is understanding graduate students’ research related Q&A behavior in campus and, ultimately, proposal of design guideline for in-campus Q&A system. To understand graduate students’ research related Q&A behavior, qualitative research is used. Focus group interviews were gone to 24 KAIST graduate student. By open coding of grounded theory approach, the interview data is analyzed to draw concepts and categories. To make meaningful relations among the concepts and categories, activity theory is applied and systematizes the relations. Also, quantitative research for analyzing homepages’ statis-tic data supports grounds. As a result, three main themes are found regarding the research related Q&A be-havior in campus. These main themes are (1) the closed lab culture and the burden for personal question (2) the absence of campus research community and the difficulty of topic expert search, (3) the dispersed knowledge management problem and the absence of collaboration. From these main themes, conceptual in-campus Q&A system “Campus Digital Agora” is suggested. To solve the problems in these main themes, de-tailed solutions are deducted and are they are categorized by bottom-up processing. Finally, four design guidelines are suggested consequently: (1) supporting search for related labs/researchers, (2) offering stand-ardized labs/researchers profiles, (3) supporting online knowledge sharing activity about interest topic, (4) suggesting service design guidelines for dispersed research related online systems.
본 논문은 교내 연구관련 Q&A 활성화에 대해 필요성과 현재 시스템의 문제적 불충분으로부터 시작되어, 교내 대학원생의 융합연구관련 Q&A 행동 패턴을 이해하고, 궁극적으로는 교내 Q&A 시스템을 위한 가이드라인을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 학생들의 교내 연구관련 Q&A 행동을 이해하기 위해 질적 연구의 방법으로 접근하였다. 24명의 KAIST 대학원생을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 진행했다. 인터뷰 자료는 근거이론의 개방 코딩의 방법을 빌려 개념을 도출하고 범주를 이루게 하였다. 도출된 개념과 범주들간의 유의미한 관계를 맺기 위해 활동이론의 방법을 적용하여 체계화하였다. 또한 홈페이지 관련 통계를 분석하는 양적 연구를 병렬적으로 진행하여 학생들의 행동에 대한 근거를 도출하였다. 그 결과, 학생들의 교내 연구관련 Q&A 행동에 3가지 핵심적인 개념이 발견되었다. 교내 연구관련 Q&A 행동에 3가지 핵심적인 개념은 (1) 폐쇄적 연구실 문화 및 개인적 질의의 부담감, (2) 연구 커뮤니티 부재 및 전문가 탐색의 어려움, (3) 문제적 분산 지식 관리 및 주체간 협업 부재였다. 분석된 교내 대학원생들의 연구관련 Q&A 행동으로부터 행동 패턴이 반영된 Campus Digital Agora라는 개념적 교내 Q&A 시스템을 제시한다. 3가지 핵심적 개념에 걸친 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, 세부 하위 범주로부터 해결방안을 도출하고 상향식 방법으로 범주화하였다. 그 결과, 4가지의 핵심 디자인 가이드라인 (1) 관련 연구자 및 연구실 검색 지원, (2) 표준화된 연구자/연구실 프로파일 제공, (3) 관심 주제에 대한 온라인 지식공유 활동 지원, (4) 분산된 연구관련 온라인 시스템의 서비스 지원 가이드라인 제시가 필요함을 주장한다.
