Gamification is the process of solving problems by applying game design elements in non-game contexts. This new trend has been recently applied to foresight method and the interests for it are growing continuously. In this paper, I designed a new method enhances the characteristics of the gamification - the engagement and the participation - through the integrate analysis of existing gamification case with the outcomes of the futures studies, and have been tested for its practical applicability by empirical method. The test yielded positive effects/results from gamification about the interests and adaptabilities for the future of the participants. With participatory foresight method, the results of this study could be considered as one of the new alternatives to fill the shortcomings of traditional foresight activities had a tendency to rely on a small number of expert`s intuition.
게이미피케이션이란 게임이 아닌 분야에 게임 디자인 요소를 도입해서 사람들을 몰입시키고 그 효과를 이용해서 문제를 해결하는 과정으로, 미래예측 분야에도 최근 도입이 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 증가하는 게이미피케이션에 대한 중요도과 관심도에 비해 게이미피케이션을 활용한 사례들을 종합하여 집중적으로 분석한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 게이미피케이션 문헌 연구와 기존 사례 분석을 통해 새로운 게이미피케이션 방법론을 설계 구현하고 이 방법론이 실제 미래예측에 적용 가능한지에 대해 연구하였다. 연구결과 통계적 분석을 통해 본 방법론에 노출된 참여자들의 미래 인식과 적응력이 향상되었다는 결론을 내릴 수 있었다. 미래예측에 본 게이미피케이션 방법론을 적용하는 것은 참여적 미래예측 방법론과 더불어 주로 소수 전문가의 직관에 의존하는 경향이 있던 기존 미래예측 활동의 부족한 점을 채울 수 있는 새로운 대안이 될 수도 있을것으로 여겨진다. 특히 한국과 같은 토론 문화가 부족하고 장유유서로 새로운 세대의 의견을 반영하기 어려운 지역에서는 젊은 세대의 의견을 수렴할 수 있는 좋은 방법론이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
