Mold manufacturing flow consists of many stages of information and material processing. Especially, for handling the geometry information CAD/CAM systems are generally used, but the systems themselves have some limitations which may result in delivery-time delay.
So, in order to shorten the delivery time, this thesis 1) describes the present practices of mold manufacturing and identifies their problems, 2) proposes the scheme of using 'Z-Master', one of the CAM systems which utilizes Z-Map data structure, and 3) proposes the ideal utilization scheme and functional requirements of a CAD/CAM system for the sake of solving the remaining problems.
Concurrent Engineering concept is used as an approach method, so parallelism and data concentration are adopted for an analysis method.
