A comparative study is presented on the current control techniques for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives using PWM Inverters. An overview of several current control techniques described in the literature is presented. An analysis of these control techniques under various operating conditions is given, and The characteristics are studied by computer simulations and experiments. In particular, in case of the predictive control scheme, the effects of inaccurate load informations are examined and the counter EMF estimation technique is proposed. The current control scheme with proposed estimation technique is implemented by DSP-based digital controller and the possibility is proved.
