The relational data model is widely used but it cannot deal with vagueness which pervades real world. We propose a query language, fuzzy selective relational algebra, which can deal with vagueness in the relational framework. We also implement an experimental query processor FQP(Fuzzy Query Processor) based on the proposed fuzzy selective relational algebra.
In the fuzzy selective relational algebra, the fuzzy constants and fuzzy comparators can be used and a query is transformed into the intermediate from which can be analyzed by using the conventional methods for relational algebra.
